Moto Z2 Play Philippines Price is Php 24,999, Complete Specs, Actual Unit Photos

The 2017 upper midrange Android smartphone of Lenovo-owned Motorola brand, the Moto Z2 Play, has just been officially launched in the Philippines via an exclusive media event held today - July 19, 2017 - in Bonifacio Global City.

Moto Z2 Play Handheld Console

Capable of transforming into a full-fledged gaming console via the Moto Mod shown in the photo above, Moto Z2 Play should delight avid mobile gamers of all ages.

Powered by a stellar set of internal hardware including its 64-Bit Octa-Core Qualcomm MSM8953-Pro Snapdragon 626 chipset that incorporates an Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, this model should be able to run specs-intensive 3D games without annoying lags and to deliver a smooth overall mobile experience.

Moto Z2 Play Camera

Another highlight of its model is its 12 MegaPixel rear camera with Dual Tone LED flash, phase detection autofocus that locks in on a subject in a blink of an eye, as well as a very wide f/1.7 aperture for great low-light performance. I'd say such aperture size is a real treat in this price category.

This main shooter is also capable of shooting 4K videos at 30 frames per second and ultra-slow-motion 720p HD videos at 120 fps!

Moto Z2 Play

In front, Moto Z2 Play is equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD SuperAMOLED display panel that should deliver ultra crisp and brilliant images be it while gaming, watching 1080p videos, or just browsing photos taken using the camera.

Above the display, we'll find the 5 MegaPixel selfie cam and Dual Tone Soft LED flash, which comes in handy when snapping self-portraits in low to zero lighting conditions. As a Moto Z owner, I'd say that Moto has one of the best pre-installed Beautification Software for selfies; It just clears our your skin tone without drastically altering your facial features. It's very subtle but it works.

Despite being incredibly thin with depth of just 6 millimeters, Moto Z2 Play has a built-in 3.5mm audio jack, which should be a welcome feature for those who love listening to music on the go.

As for the phone's design and build, I'd say it's almost identical to my Moto Z. Moto Z2 Play has the same real metal mid-frame, circular protruding rear camera module, and similar placement of the magnetic connector for Modo Mods at the lower back portion.

Moto Z2 Play

Moto Z2 Play supports all Moto Mods that are now available in the Philippine market including Moto Insta-Share Projector, Hasselblad True Zoom, Incipio offGRID Power Pack, and JBL Soundboost Speaker Mod (versions 1 and 2). Of course, it also works with the new Game Console Mod, which is arriving in our country soon donning a price tag of around Php 10,000.

Out in three colors, namely, Fine Gold, Nimbus Blue, and Lunar Gray, Moto Z2 Play will be available across the country at Lenovo and Moto Concept Stores, kiosks, and authorized retail partners with an official suggested retail price of Php 24,999 starting on July 21, 2017.

Moto Z Philippines Price is Php 33,999, Full Specs, Actual Photos, Impressions

Several months after its launch in the Philippines, the Moto Z flagship smartphone remains to be the one of the most gorgeous and most innovative handsets that you can get in the market currently.

I highly recommend this model to those who are now looking for a top-of-the-line daily driver and are interested in trying out an off-beat yet stellar offering by another brand, apart from the usual suspects.

Moto Z

With a real metal mid-frame that's only 5.2 millimeters thin, Moto Z is one of the slimmest mobile devices ever released. And yet, this model packs a heavyweight punch in its ultra-sleek shell.

Moto Z
The Power button as well as the Volume Up and Down toggles are located on the right panel.

Before I give you details about Moto Z's technical specifications, allow me to talk about its design and construction more.

What I particularly like about this model is that despite being very slim, it feels very solid in the hand. The metal elements feel sturdy and well-made while everything that's within it, including the curved Gorilla Glass 4 panel, are neatly packed in such a way that the device won't have any flex.

Moto Z

The protruding circular camera module at the back is an obvious 'impact point' for bumps and scratches - especially when you're not using any of the Moto Mods, which I'll talk more about in future entries - but I actually like this element as I believe it gives the phone more character.

Moto Z
The tray for the Dual nanoSIM slots as well as the microSD card memory expansion slot is found on the top panel. Also, notice the thick yet well-placed antenna band right smack in the middle.

Moto Z
Being so thin, Moto Z lacks a 3.5mm combo jack. Nonetheless, you can plug in the adapter, which comes with free with the package, to the USB Type C port at the rear or use wireless earphones to listen to music on the go.

Alright! Now, let's jump to specs.

Moto Z

Moto Z flaunts a very clear and crisp 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display that's a joy to look at regardless of the viewing angle. Whether you're just browsing photos or playing a specs-intensive 3D game, you will surely find the expensive enjoyable on this screen.

Below the display, you'll find the square fingerprint scanner for quickly unlocking the interface with but a touch of a finger. I initially thought this was the home button but it wasn't the case. In fact, Moto Z has virtual navigation buttons as shown in the photo above.

Moto Z

At the back, on the said circular module, you'll find the phone's 13 MegaPixel camera with f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, and Optical Image Stabilization. Trust me when I say that this shooter makes Moto Z one of the best cameraphones that you can purchase currently.

Oh, and this rear cam can also shoot 4K 30fps clips, which is great for those who like documenting their travels and other activities via video.

Moto Z

If you enjoy taking selfies, you'll definitely fall in love with this handset's 5 MegaPixel front cam with f/2.2 aperture, 1.4 µm pixel size, and wide-angle lens. It also comes with Soft LED flash, which you can use in torch mode to get bright selfies even in low to zero lighting conditions. Powered by Moto's own Beautification software, this front cam delivers selfies that are instantly ready for sharing on Facebook and Instagram.

Moto Z

Inside, Moto Z runs its near-vanilla Andoid 7.0 Nougat operating system (following a firmware upgrade) with a beastly 64-Bit Quad Core 2.15 GHz Kryo and Adreno 530 GPU based Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, has 4GB of RAM for smooth multitasking, and comes with 64GB of ROM that can even be expanded using the dedicated microSD card slot supporting up to 256GB.

This impressive set of innards allows this flagship-level smartphone to run multiple resource-demanding 3D games and apps at the same time, without annoying lags.

Moto Z is powered by a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery pack, which - I find - is capable of delivering whole day uptime with regular use. I kind of wish that the battery were bigger -- but then that would also make the device thicker; So there's that compromise.

Moto Z

As many tech experts will tell you, the most innovative feature that the Moto Z has is its ability to expand functionality through modules.

These modules - called Moto Mods - connect to the Moto Z magnetically and become part of the system through the exposed metallic knobs and plates located at the lower portion of the phone's back panel.

Moto Z
The use of these exposed plates as well as the magnetic attachment represent probably the most convenient and most clever rendition of a modular smartphone set-up to date. Kudos to Team Moto for conceptualizing and actually crafting this.

Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod

Currently, my favorite Moto Mod is the Hasselblad True Zoom, which gives Moto Z a whopping ten times optical lossless zooming capability both for snapping photos and recording videos! Really comes in handy when watching concerts and musicals.

Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod
This Php 14,099 mod transforms the Moto Z into a full-fledged digital camera with its rubberized grip, shutter button, and Xenon flash.

Alright! That's it for now. Again, stay tuned for more entries about Moto Z and Moto Mods. You can purchase this amazing smartphone for Php 33,999 at all Moto Concept Stores and authorized retail partners of the brand nationwide. The handset is available in a number of elegant colors, including Black with Gray accents, Black with Rose Gold accents, Black with Gold accents and White.

Moto M Philippines Price, Specs, Release Date and Features Announced!

Lenovo-owned Moto PH has just made it even harder for Filipino mobile consumers to choose a midrange Android smartphone to bet their money on by releasing yet another powerhouse device in the said price bracket.

Donning an SRP of Php 14,999, the all-new Moto M goes head to head with some of the best-selling handsets in our country this year, including OPPO F1s, Vivo V5, and Asus ZenFone 3.

And I'm sure you're wondering, "Does this fresh offering by Moto have the chops to give those other models a good run for the money?"

Well, my quick answer to that is 'Yes'.

For one, it has stellar aesthetics. Its body is crafted from anodized aluminum, which should make it look and feel elegant and durable. The rounded corners and edges should make it a joy to have in the hand as well.

Inside, it runs Android Marshmallow OS with a 64-Bit Octa Core MediaTek P15 processor, has 4GB of RAM for multitasking, and comes with 32GB of expandable storage; A set of innards that's certainly not bad for a device in this price echelon.

One of the coolest things about this release is that its shell has a nano-coating that protects it against accidental spills and splashes of water. The device doesn't really have any IP certification -- but one can't deny that this is certainly a treat on a smartphone with a fairly affordable price tag.

It also has a Fingerprint Scanner at the back for quickly unlocking the interface with but a touch of a finger. Sweet!

Personally, though, what I love most about this the Moto is its above average imaging capabilities. The main cam is a 16 MegaPixel PDAF shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 1 µm pixel size, which should give it great low-light performance. The front cam on the other hand is an 8MP snapper with Beauty Mode that's capable of delivering clear and crisp selfies that are instantly ready for sharing on Facebook and Instagram.

Can't wait to give this model a test run! I mean, being a Moto Z (with Mods) owner, I can tell you that this Lenovo-owned company hasn't forgotten how to craft well-designed smartphones that give good value for money.
