CloudFone Lite Senior Phone Price is Php 799 : For Our Dear Grandmas and Grandpas

Last week, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Give-Back Project, our friends from CloudFone held a Peace of Mind Activity where they gave 20 senior patients at the Martinez Memorial Hospital in Caloocan City free Lite Senior phones that they can use to stay in touch with their loved ones.

At the event, CellPrime executive showed how the phones' unique S.O.S. Button can help people seek help during medical emergencies or times of distress. Pressing the button automatically activates an alarm, sends emergency text messages, and calls up to five pre-assigned contacts.

"In a non-life threatening situation, you can always text or call someone. But if the situation is life threatening, you may not have the time or even the ability to turn on your phone, unlock the screen and look for a number to call. You’re not even sure if those you call can respond fast enough to help you. The S.O.S. Button in the CloudFone Lite Senior can take care of all that and more," shared Mr. CellPrime COO, Mr. Jaime Alcantara.

Mrs. Dominga Martin, 71, was one of the grandmas to receive a CloudFone Lite Senior phone.

She recalled her difficulty in getting help when she accidentally slipped while at home. She also shared about an instance when she was trying to ask for help when she was held up and robbed of her money during a trip in the city.

With her new CloudFone Lite Senior phone, Lola Dominga can have peace of mind that her loved ones will only be a press of a button away should she require help and assistance.

Cloudfone Lite Senior was developed by the Proudly-Pinoy company within a span of one and a half years before launching the device in June 2017. They took into account how they could make available technologies more useful to seniors.

Mr. Ray Caguin, CloudFone Group Brand Manager, expounded, "Here in the Philippines, a feature phone like the Cloudfone Lite Senior is a volume driver, meaning many people still look for this kind of phone. For every niche market, we want to develop something awesome for the Filipino customer and we make sure that the development of each feature in every phone is given enough time and thought, so we can reach that goal to be awesome. For the senior segment, we believe that the S.O.S. button is awesome because it serves as a lifeline to your family and loved ones."

Mr. NiƱo Mendoza - CloudFone Chief Strategy Officer, Ms. Tess Tiu-Cloudfone Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Azer Villola- CloudFone Chief Product Officer, Mr. Joey Oreta- CloudFone Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Jaime Alcantara- CloudFone Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Bradford Martinez - Martinez Memorial Hospital Board Member, and Dr. Elizabeth Del Rio - Martinez Memorial Hospital Chief Operating Officer - at the CloudFone 'Peace of Mind' Activity.

"When Cloudfone explained to me the features, I liked it. I explained to the recipients about the advantages in cases of accidents and distress. Ang galing. If I had that kind of phone when I had an accident, this phone could have helped. Maganda ito," shared Martinez Memorial Hospital’s COO, Dr. Elizabeth Martinez Del Rio.

New Nokia 3310 Yellow, Warm Red, Dark Blue, or Grey? Which Color Do You Prefer?

I've just arrived home from the exclusive media launch of HMD Global's new Nokia branded handsets here in the Philippines, which was held at Aracama at the Fort Strip of Bonifacio Global City.

The Finnish company, which calls itself 'The New Home of Nokia Phones' formally unveiled three new Android smartphones -- but I believe many would agree with me that the most anticipated Nokia device earlier was the reimagined Nokia 3310.

Mr. Shannon Mead, Country Manager of HMD Global in the Philippines, presenting the all-new Nokia 3310.

Announced near the end of today's program as a 'surprise' product, Nokia 3310 will be available in the Philippines come the end of June 2017 with official suggested retail price of only Php 2,490, which is less than our initial guesstimate for this model.

Nokia 3310 Philippines

The 2017 Nokia 3310 is a basic feature-phone with modest specs, including a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 pixels colored TN display panel, 2 MegaPixel fixed focus camera at the back with LED flash, Dual SIM (Dual microSIM) Dual Standby capability, removable 1,200 mAh battery pack delivering up to 31 days of Standby Time, Series 30 operating system, microUSB charging and data sync port, a microSD card expansion slot for various content, and - everyone's favorite - the new Snake game that comes pre-installed on the handset.

The New Nokia 3310 will out in three youthful hues. For consumers who have yet to make their minds on which color option to get, let me show you each of them.

Nokia 3310 Dark Blue

Nokia 3310 Dark Blue

Of all color options, this one is most reminiscent of the vintage Nokia 3310 with the thick white bands in front and the matte finish.

On a separate, for those who are asking, the tactile 'clicky' feedback of this keyboard feels almost the same as that of the old Nokia 3310 -- if not slightly better.

Apart from the colored display, perhaps the biggest improvement implemented on this fresh release is the inclusion of a rear camera with LED flash.

Nokia 3310 Grey

The New Nokia 3310's user interface is very familiar and easy to navigate. If you've used a Nokia phone in the past or even if you're total stranger to the S40 operating system, you'll find it hard to get lost in this simple UI.

If you're more attracted to hues that aren't too flashy, I will surely love this Grey option.

The matte finish also makes the phone easier to hold and less prone to accidental 'grasp slippage'.

Nokia 3310 Yellow

I believe this Glossy Yellow color option is most popular among young consumers, including the millennials -- and understandably so.

It's fresh, bubbly, and vibrant. And I think it's very eye-catching.

Nokia 3310 Warm Red

Nokia 3310 Warm Red

It was my first time to see a Warm Red Nokia 3310 unit in the flesh at the event earlier and I'd say it's my new favorite.

The color is actually more Clementine than Red, which I like since - I believe - it makes the device look more fun and youthful.

If I'd get this phone as part of my growing gadget collection, it will be in this color. Why? Well, I think it will go well with my Shiny Sports-car Red Nokia Lumia 920, which is now in the TechPinas Gadget Vault.

So which of these Nokia 3310 2017 color options do you prefer? Let me know answer via our comments section below.
